At the beginning of my career, I was doing school shows where I used to perform conjuring and semi-illusions. I was being liked by both students and teachers. And as they say, along with popularity, there comes the pressure to maintain my standard. For that, I need to upgrade myself. So, I started performing illusions, close-up magic, mind magic and theme magic. With the blessing of God, my parents and my mentor; my performance was appreciated both in India and abroad.
My Tryst with Theme Magic
Theme Magic is a kind of magic where a set of magic tricks are weaved together to create a story or a theme. The magician needs to have good knowledge of acting; that is the most important part of theme magic. This acting bug infected me some 18 years ago! It was so severe that, I ended up receiving the best actor trophy for my stage appearance. However, the busy magic assignments keep me away from the acting field. When I get to understand theme magic, I feel it is my opportunity to satisfy both of my desires!
But it is not only about acting or magic. In fact, one has to balance both the things; while performing a theme magic act. Your magic should not disturb the flow of the story. So, you need to work on your script, music, magical act as well as on your acting! It is not easy but the amount of satisfaction you get from that makes it worth the effort.
